Plain and simple: Bellies rule. Everybody has one and that statement applies to them all . All shapes and sizes. Stretch marks, birthmarks, scars, cellulite, rolls and all!
One of the main reasons this blog was made is to help people love and embrace their belly. (And every other part of their awesome body!)

While I'm on the topic »
It’s your right to listen to any kind of music you want. However, it is also my right to criticise this music and make a judgement of your personality based on that criticism. With that in mind there is something that has been bugging me for a long time. Simply, the pervasive, underlying misogyny in the metalcore/bad hardcore/bree bree/whatever else the kids are calling it these days scene. I’m talking about bands like Asking Alexandria who spout out disgusting lyrics like:
“I knew when I first saw you
You’d fuck like a whore
[…]
With your face buried in the pillow
I see you cold, I feel you heartless
Bitch, you stupid fucking bitch
You stupid fucking bitch
”
or Bring Me The Horizon who’s frontman penned the abhorrent lyrics
“Your beauty is no more.
So why don’t you just fuck yourself you fucking whore”
not to mention starting a clothing company that produces sickenly misogynistic apparel such as a shirt which reads “Bitches Get Stiches, Sluts Get Cuts”
Or bands like A Day To Remember who (allegedly) have thrown bottles at young girls, spit in the face of ex girlfriends and when confronted by young fans they have exploited said things like “the only memories I have of you are me fucking you because that’s all you were ever good for”
THIS IS NOT OKAY.
You can like these bands all you want. But don’t you dare call yourself alternative, different or hardcore for doings so. There is nothing alternative about perpetuating the same patriarchal norms that every other aspect of mainstream culture does. There is nothing hard about victimising women and then whining about them in a shitty song while completely failing to see your own emotional shortcomings. Real alternative culture is about fighting against systems of oppression.
Real hardcore is gender inclusive, real hardcore is pro feminist, real hardcore is about everyone being equal.
By supporting these bands you are reinforcing a sexist hegemonic culture. If you buy their records you are essentially condoning predatory sexual behaviour, if you wear their shirts you are excusing a culture that is at best offensive and at worst violent towards women.

This is me. Droopy, saggy, squishable fat me. It’s taken me a long time to accept my profile. I hated that my boobs weren’t perky, my belly sagged, and I lacked in the ass department. Now I look at it and realize that I’m gorgeous. I can’t believe I used to hide this beautiful body. No matter what angle, I love this body.

"My body is not your community service project, my body is not your soulless fetish object, I do not need to justify my body to you or anyone, my body does not make me a joke nor does it make me insensitive to your hurtful remarks, my body is not an excuse for you to treat me like a second class citizen, my body is none of your business."
